V. MUTHU KUMARAN

Managing Partner

Mr. V. Muthu Kumaran obtained his LL.B (Hons) from the University of London in 1998. Prior to legal practise, he gained vast experience and knowledge in respect of insurance claims as an adjuster at Mc Larens Saksama (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd from 1998 till 2000 under the Medio-Legal Consultancy Unit and Third Party Bodily Injury Department respectively.

During this period, he was exposed to various aspects of insurance claims arising out of medical negligence cases and third party bodily injury claims.

In 2001, he commenced his pupillage in the Chambers of Mr. T. Tharumarajah at Messrs Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong and was called to the Malaysian Bar on 11th April 2002. Thereafter, he was retained as a Legal Assistant in the Motor Department and mainly focused on matters relating to personal injury claims and other aspects of insurance claims pertaining to Fire, Public Liability and Workmen Compensation.

In 2007, he formed his own practice and is heading the insurance and civil department.

MOHD TAHRIL BIN JAMIA’AN

Partner

Mohd Tahril obtained his LL.B (Hons) from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2008.

In 2009, he commenced his pupillage in the Chambers of Mr. Anantharajah Shanmugam at Messrs Azim, Tunku Farik & Wong and was called to the Malaysian Bar on 13th November, 2009. Thereafter, he was retained as a Legal Assistant in the Motor Department and mainly focusing on matters relating to personal injury claims and other aspects of insurance claims pertaining to Fire, Public Liability and Workmen Compensation.

In 2011, he joined this firm as an Associate specialising in motor insurance claims relating to personal injury claims. Thereafter, in April 2012, he joined in as a Partner. He is also involved in the operation of the insurance litigation department.

VINOBHA VELAPPAN

Partner

Ms. Vinobha Velappan obtained her LL.B (Hons) from the University of London.

In 1999, Vinobha Velappan commenced her pupillage in the Chambers of Mr. T. Kuhanandanat at Messrs Badri, Kuhan Yeoh & Ghandi and was called to the Malaysian Bar on 25th August 2000. Thereafter, she was retained as a Legal Assistant in the Banking Department and mainly focused on matters relating to banking matters and civil litigation. She then joined Messrs SL Chin & Mahathir in April 2001 as Litigation Legal Assistant where she headed the Litigation Department. She was mainly involved in civil litigation ranging from banking, bankruptcy, foreclosure, winding up and family law matters.

She then joined Messrs. Lim Soh & Goonting in March 2004 and became Senior Litigation Legal Assistant. She gained vast experience in recovery proceedings, conveyancing, foreclosure, summary judgments and winding up proceedings.

In 2015, she joined this firm as a Partner specialising in various civil matters and family law matters.

NORZAILA BINTI RAWI

Partner

Puan Norzaila binti Rawi read law in the International Islamic University, Malaysia (IIUM) from 1993 to 1997. She completed her degree course and obtained the Bachelor of Law (LL.B) with Honours in April 1997.

She chambered in Messrs Abdul Halim & Co, Kuala Terengganu from September until December 1997 and at Messrs G.T.S & Americk Sidhu, Kuala Terengganu from December until June 1998. During her chambering period, she gained vast experience in Conveyancing as well as in Litigation.

She was admitted to the Bar and was enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in Kuala Terengganu on 28th August 1998. Upon completing her chambering, she commenced practice as a Legal Assistant of Messrs Sandu & Co, Kuala Terengganu from April 1999 and thereafter joined Messrs E.Ramasamy & Co, Muar, Johor in December 1999. In March 2000, she joined Messrs Hazelin & Associates, Muar, Johor as a branch solicitor. At the said firm, she was exposed to criminal, civil and conveyancing matters. In August 2002, she joined Messrs K.J.Lo & Co, Batu Pahat, Johor as a Legal Assistant mainly handling conveyancing matters.

In August 2003, she joined Messrs Bala Gopal & Associates, Malacca and at the said firm, she handled criminal, civil and conveyancing matters. In July 2005, she joined Messrs Lawrence Pereira & Partners, Johor Bahru as a Legal Assistant and was in charge of motor insurance claim.

She joined Messrs Michael Teoh, Balan & Ida Zura, Johor Bahru in April 2006 until September, 2020 as a Legal Assistant mainly handling running down matters. In September, 2020 she joined this firm as a Senior Legal Assistant and specializing in motor insurance claims relating to personal injury claims. In December 2021, Puan Norzaila is elevated as a Partner of the firm.

NURULHUDA BINTI MOHD SALLEH

Senior Legal Assistant

Puan Nurulhuda Binti Mohd Salleh graduated from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur and obtained the Bachelor of Law (LL.B) with Honours in April 1995.

She chambered in Messrs JS Pillay & Co, Johor Bahru and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitors of High Court of Malaya on 20th of July, 1996. 

She commenced practice as a Legal Assistant at Messrs Rani & Co, Kulai from August, 1996 until December, 1997. Thereafter, in January, 1998, she joined Messrs Anandan Krishnan & Partners, Muar, Johor. She had extensive experience in handling civil litigation cases in the above said firms. 

In June, 2000, she joined Messrs Nijar, Kumar Netto & Partners, Johor Bahru, Johor as a Legal Assistant and handling civil matters including banking and running down matters. In her 2nd year practising in the said firm, she started specialising in Motor Insurance claim.

She joined Messrs VP Nathan & Partners, Kuala Lumpur in December, 2007 until middle of December, 2014 and later practised at Messrs Teh Poh Teik & Co, Johor Bahru from 15th December, 2014 until 30th June, 2021 as a Legal Assistant mainly handling motor insurance claim relating to personal injury and property damage matters. 

In January, 2022, she joined this firm as a Senior Legal Assistant and specializing in motor insurance claims relating to personal injury claims and property damage matters.

HARCHANADEVI A/P S ARIVANTHAN

Senior Legal Assistant

Harchanadevi was conferred with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B (Hons)) from the University of Malaya in the year of 2018.

She then chambered in Messrs Chambers of Shantamohan under the tutelage of Mr. Shantamohan and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 22nd July 2019.

She commenced practice as a Legal Assistant at Messrs V. M. Kumaran & Co. Her current area of practice is insurance law, both advisory and litigation. She has been exposed to full litigation wherein her appearance at Courts covers up from Subordinate Court up to the High Court which has provided her with advocacy advantages when handling litigated matters.

CHEW HUI XIAN

Senior Legal Assistant

Miss Chew graduated from Multimedia University with a Bachelor of Law (Honours) in 2017. She read in the chamber of M/s Morthi Segaran & Co. and was called to the Malaysian Bar on 27th July 2018.

Upon being admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya, she joined Messrs. S. K. Koh & Co. as a Legal Assistant mainly in handling conveyancing matters.

In July 2020, she joined this firm as a Legal Assistant and specializing in motor insurance claims relating to personal injury.

NUR ATIQAH BINTI SABARUDIN

Legal Assistant

Puan Nur Atiqah graduated from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) with Honours. She started pupillage in February 2019 in Messrs Che Arifin & Co (Kuantan) under the guidance of her Master, Puan Rohana Awang Hamat. In Messrs Che Arifin, Atiqah was introduced to motor insurance claims relating to personal injury and property damage matter and acting for claimants.

She completed her Chambering in November 2019 and was called to the Bar on 19th December 2019.

She commenced work as a Paralegal in Messrs Fathiah & Co from January until March 2020 and gained understanding about Shariah litigation especially divorce, Islamic will/Hibah and commercial conveyancing matters.

Thereafter, from May until July 2020, she was retained as a Legal Assistant in Messrs Siti Aisah Ithnin & Co and handling general litigation matters and non-contentious matters such as winding up, bankruptcy, adoption and divorce procedure.

She then joined this firm as a Paralegal from January 2021 and thereafter became Legal Assistant.

MANMIT KAUR A/P BHAJAN SINGH

Legal Assistant

Miss Manmit Kaur read law in Multimedia University (MMU), Melaka from 2015 to 2020. She completed her degree course and obtained her Bachelor of Law (LL.B) with Honours in July 2020.

Thereafter, she commenced her pupilage in our firm under the tutelage of Mr. V. Muthu Kumaran from November 2020 until August 2021. 

She was admitted to the Bar and was enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in Muar, Johor on 21st November 2021.

Upon completing her chambering, she is retained in this firm as a Legal Assistant in January 2022 specializing in motor insurance claims relating to personal injury and property damage matters.

NOR ADIBAH BINTI MOHD SITH

Legal Assistant

Nor Adibah graduated from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) with Honours in 2020. 

She commenced her pupilage in our firm under the tutelage of Encik Mohd Tahril Bin Jamia’an. She was later admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 20th Mac 2022. 

Upon completion of her pupilage, she joined this firm as a Legal Assistant in April 2022 specializing in motor insurance relating to personal injury and property damage claims.

NOOR SHAHIFAH BINTI SYAHROM

Paralegal

Noor Shahifah studied in Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Kampus Segamat from 2014 to 2017.

She completed her degree course and obtained Bachelor of Science (Hons) Statistics First Class in November 2017. Thereafter, she completed her Master of Science (Industrial Statistics) in September 2020.

She joined this firm as a Paralegal in September 2020 specializing in motor insurance claims in relation to personal injury.

Being a Statistician, she is able to analyse and interpret the factual situation by using the qualitative method so as the decision making for each case is more accurate and reliable in her opinion drafting. Her knowledge in Statistics will also provide the lawyers and associates with the ability to make forecast about settlement prospects and fraud indicators.
